UNION CHURCH
Sanctuary Choir |
|
The Sanctuary Choir meets Wednesday nights, from 7:30 to 9 pm, in the Sanctuary for a weekly rehearsal and sings during each Sunday worship service. We perform music from all periods, from Gregorian Chant to contemporary styles. Our Director of Music and Choir, Billie Bandermann, teaches singing at De Anza College and also directs the De Anza College Women's Chorus. Susan Snook-Luther has been our organist since December, 2000 when she took over from Lothar Bandermann who, though now employed as senior organist at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, continues to contribute as our resident composer of sacred music. The Sanctuary Choir sings at several benefit concerts each year at Union Church in support of our community outreach programs. The choir also participates in an annual ecumenical Thanksgiving service, along with other local church choirs. If you are interested in singing good music, warm fellowship and benefiting others through music, come and join us at our rehearsals. We welcome everyone including beginners.
