Union Church presently has two active prayer groups, the Prayer Chain and the Prayer Covenant.

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain responds to requests from individuals. Prayer requests come mainly by pew cards, filled out and handed in on Sunday, but may also come from personal contact, phone, or e-mail. Any request may be kept confidential. Everyone on the chain receives the request and sets an individual prayer time until the need is known to be over or until some months have passed (if the person who requests prayers does not give further information).

Prayer Covenant

The Covenant Prayers began several years ago when a group of members made a covenant to pray daily for the church and for the minister. Most pray at home; however, some also meet once a week to pray in a group setting, focusing on a certain aspect of the church life. The prayer groups are an important adjunct to the prayer/concern time during the worship service.
