Scripture Reading for May 18, 2025

John 13:31-35

31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of man glorified, and in him God is glorified; 32 if God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself,  and will glorify him at once.

33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you.

You will seek me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you,

‘Where I am going you cannot come.’                       

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

 

Revelation 21:1-6

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband; 3 and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling of God is with humankind. God will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them;      4 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.”

5 And The One who sat upon the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me,     “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life.
